HUBZone Certification

The government awards $18 Billion Dolars a year to HUBZone Bussinesses. What does this mean for you? The U.S. Government encourages small businesses to locate in, and hire employees from economically disadvantaged areas of the United States.

Program Benefits

By law the Federal Government has to award a percentage of all contracts to HUBZone qualified businesses. You will receive preference in open bid contracts and can subcontract out the job that was awarded to you.

Qualifications

To qualify for the HUBZone program, your business must:

• Be a small business
• Be at least 51 percent owned and controlled by U.S. citizens, a Community Development Corporation, an agricultural cooperative, a Native Hawaiian organization, or an Indian tribe
• Have its principal office located in a HUBZone
• Have at least 35 percent of its employees live in a HUBZone
